Ms. Brancato is a New York native who graduated from St. Anthony's High School in 1996 and obtained her Political Science degree from Loyola College in 2000. Thereafter Ms. Brancato returned home to attend St. John's University School of Law in Jamaica, Queens. While at St. John's Ms. Brancato clerked at Creedon & Associates, a large civil litigation firm, where she supported the trial practice of the managing attorney, assisting in the defense of wrongful death cases and matters of grave or catastrophic injury.
Upon her graduation in 2003, Ms. Brancato was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of Bronx County, where she served with distinction for five years. Ms. Brancato rose to become a lead prosecutor in the Major Case Gang unit, where she routinely handled and tried cases involving kidnaping, homicide, conspiracy, gun possession, robbery, assault and other gang related offenses.
Ms. Brancato resides in the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn.
